"Wall of Tears" is a collaborative healing project created by social artist, KayT aka Kei T

Stories were shared anonymously by victims and survivors of domestic violence, rape and incest. The project was a form of empowerment and healing.  The stories were projected on a wall of tissues that were configured to have alternating rows of the 4th tissue and 6th tissue missing to represent the statistics of domesic violence and rape which included attempted rape in the US.  This statistics collected and reported are most likely lower than the true number since victims/survivors do not always report or tell on their perpetrator because of fear of more abuse or even death.

This project was displayed at the Worth Ryder Gallery on the campus of UC Berkeley in Berkeley, California in November of 2015. It has now become an ongoing project because of the response by the participants to share their stories anonymously and the viewer response. Many felt empowered by telling their story that was hidden for so long and others identified with the stories.

Stories are shared in all languages. If you would like to share your story, click the share your story button.  You can also mail your story directly to: kaytsculptureart@gmail.com
